A delegation from The New American Colleges & Universities (NAC&U) will be on campus Wednesday and Thursday, March 10-11, to assess North Central’s student affairs programs.
The evaluators are administrators from various NAC&U
schools who are in Chicago this week for a Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA) conference. North Central is the first NAC&U school to have programs evaluated for best practices and assessed for suggested improvements by other NAC&U members, said Laurie Hamen, vice president for enrollment management, athletics and student affairs.
The delegation arrives Wednesday afternoon, meets with a focus group of students Wednesday evening and conducts meetings throughout the day Thursday with department heads of campus safety, student involvement and orientation, Career Development, ministry and service, multicultural affairs, Junior/Senior Scholars, Dyson Wellness Center, and retention, judicial affairs and leadership.
The visiting delegation includes Tijuana Julian, vice president of student affairs and dean of students at Drury University; Levester Johnson, vice president for student affairs at Butler University; Janet E. Walbert, vice president for student affairs at Arcadia University; and Alan Sickbert, dean of students at Hamline University.
