Among the many planned events related to the “Harry Potter’s World” national traveling exhibit in Oesterle Library is a community event, Muggle Children’s Day, this Saturday, May 7. The library will be transformed into Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. North Central’s education department and the library have planned free activities for some 100 children in fourth through eighth grades in local partner schools to encourage a love of reading and interest in modern science. Children are invited to dress in either wizard or muggle fashion, and classes will include crafts, potions and recitations and Quidditch matches.
There’s still room for interested children and grandchildren of faculty, staff and students, too. Advance registration is required; visit http://noctrl.libguides.com/harrypotter or contact Emily Prather-Rodgers at 630-637-5709 for more information.
