Michael de Brauw, assistant professor of classics, has seven articles—including entries on Greek oratory, Athenian funeral orations, speechwriting in ancient Greece, and figures of speech in classical rhetoric—published in the
Oxford Encyclopedia of Ancient Greece and Rome (February 2010). His contributions comprise a significant proportion of the
Encyclopedia’s coverage of ancient rhetoric and public speaking.
Oxford says, the
Encyclopedia “is the clearest and most accessible guide to the world of classical antiquity ever produced,” featuring “over 1,100 signed A to Z entries written by foremost classical scholars, archeologists and historians.” Oesterle library has purchased rights to the online version of the
Encyclopedia; a l
