North Central College's men’s cross country team has claimed its 39th consecutive team title at the Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Championships.
Head coach Al Carius and his cross country program have one of the longest-running traditions of excellence in collegiate athletics.
Carius and his third-ranked harriers won their trophy on Oct. 27 at St. James Farm in Warrenville. The Cardinals claimed seven of the top 12 finishers and posted a winning score of 19 points, well ahead of 25th-ranked Wheaton (55) and 16th-ranked Augustana College (62). North Central has won every CCIW Championship meet that has been contested since 1974.
