Gerald Gems, professor of health and physical education, had his article titled “The German Turners and the Taming of Radicalism in Chicago” published in the
International Journal of the History of Sport, 26:13 (October 2009), pp. 1926-1945. In addition, his review of the Prince Chichibu sport museum in Tokyo was published in the
Journal of Sport History, 36:3 (Spring 2009) issue.
