Gerald Gems, professor of health and physical education, and North Central students Stephanie Salerno, who’s pursuing a master’s in liberal studies, and senior Kelly Lofgren, physical education: K-12 major, traveled to Denmark and participated in the
University of Copenhagen Summer School for graduate students. On Aug. 27, Gems gave a presentation titled “Sport and Physical Activity: A Comparison of Ideologies and Practices in Europe and the U.S.A.” Salemo presented her research project titled “Hell on Wheels: How Punk Music and Skateboarding Reshaped the American Dream,” also at the University of Copenhagen.
