Earth Day events, April 24 and 26

Print Email Share

To celebrate Earth Day, which officially falls on Sunday, April 22, the student club Green Scene will host two “green” events on April 24 and 26. Both campus events are free and open to all students, faculty and staff.

The first one features a guest speaker from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, in WAC’s Fireside Lounge. A representative from SCARCE, a local nonprofit business, will share some green living tips. There also will be a recycling game, free lunch and information about North Central College's own green initiatives.

The second event features the showing of the documentary “The End of Suburbia: Oil Depletion and the Collapse of the American Dream” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, in WAC’s Centennial Hall. The documentary explores the American way of life and its prospects as the demand for fossil fuels increases.
