North Central College’s Commuter Life program will host Cardinal Appreciation Day, formerly Commuter Appreciation Day, on Wednesday, Nov. 7, with special events to celebrate resident and commuter students.
Although the Commuter Life program was designed specifically to advocate for commuter students, the student group decided to change the name of its appreciation day to include all students.
The following events for Cardinal Appreciation Day run throughout the day:
• Pictures with Chippy: In the Rolland Center Boilerhouse Café from 8 to 9 a.m., students may have their photo taken with Chippy, the Cardinals athletic mascot.
• Cardinal Run: Students have a chance to win prizes during the Cardinal Run to various campus offices from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Click here for specific details and prize information.
• Share what you love: For one week, between Nov. 7 and Nov. 14, the Commuter Life program invites students to share what they love about North Central for a chance to have their quote posted on the walls of the Boilerhouse basement. Students may send their messages through email at firstname.lastname@example.org, via social media at Twitter with the hashtag #NCCPride or the Commuter Life program’s Facebook page, or leave a hand-written note at the White Activities Center front desk.
The Commuter Life program coordinates programs throughout the year and assists campus partners with events. Other events hosted by the program include the weekly Commuter Breakfast and the “Dinner and a…, dessert and a.., snack and a…” social events. Commuter Life events are open to all North Central students.
