College to close Tuesday at 4 p.m.

North Central College will be closed beginning at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, through Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011. All classes and regularly scheduled activities are canceled, and only employees designated “essential” are required to report to work. A Blizzard Warning remains in effect from 3 p.m. today through 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011. You are encouraged to get safely to your final destination for the evening and remain off the roads. A decision regarding classes for Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, will be made no later than 6 a.m. Thursday. Check the College’s homepage and Web site for updates.

Important Information for Students

Food Service

The Cage will be open regular hours tonight and from 10am-midnight tomorrow.

Kaufman Dining Hall will also be open from 4:30-7pm tonight and regular hours tomorrow (7:15am-9:00am hot breakfast, 9-10am continental breakfast, 11:00am-1:30pm hot lunch, 1-3pm soup and sandwiches, and 4:30-7pm dinner).

The Boilerhouse Cafe' will close at 4 p.m. today and will be closed tomorrow.


The library will close today at 4:00 p.m. If library staff can get to campus safely, the library will be open for limited hours tomorrow. Check the library website for the most up-to-date information about hours.


Overnight parking is not allowed on city streets. Violators may be ticketed and towed. In addition, the City of Naperville has asked that no cars be parked on the street during the day so that snow can safely be removed.

If you park your car in a campus lot, you will need to check your email regularly for updates about when and where you will need to move your car as lots are being cleared of snow. The residence life Facebook page also will provide updates on parking.

Recreation Facilities

The Res/Rec Center and fitness room will be open until 9 p.m. tonight and from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. tomorrow. Additional recreational activities will be publicized on the Rec Sports Web site.

Shuttle Service

The shuttle will not be running after 4:00 p.m. tonight and will not be running at all tomorrow due to dangerous road conditions. The shuttle will run on the regular schedule when the College reopens.

White Activities Center
The front desk at the White Activities Center will remain open until midnight tonight and will be open from 7 a.m.-midnight tomorrow.
