Alumni in ministry inspire youth

The Reverend Lynn Pries ’67, North Central’s chaplain, along with New Visions Summer Company and the Rev. Becky Eberhart of Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary hosted a July conference titled “Called to Be.” The three-day event for high school students included workshops, Bible studies, recreation, visits to Chicago for both fun and worship and plenty of time for reflection to help the participants discern whether an aspect of ministry—lay or clergy—is in their futures.
Alumni returning for the event as speakers included: Rob Hamilton ’04, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church in Geneva, IL; Kris Krause ’01 Androsky, (pictured, bottom), minister of discipleship at Waukesha First United Methodist Church in Waukesha, WI; and Matt Gross ’99, (pictured, top), deputy director of Bread for the World, a grassroots, faith-based organization located in Chicago.
