As a Lederman Scholar, Kristen started earning college credit at North Central during her junior year of high school. Choosing her “permanent” college was a no-brainer.
“I’d formed great relationships with the professors at North Central,” she says. “I had good friends, I was taking challenging classes and I was involved with the campus community—it’s everything I wanted for my college career.”
Research—both independent and with faculty—has been a huge part of Kristen’s North Central experience. She’s presented her work at numerous conferences and even spent five weeks overseas researching public policy at the University of Cambridge.
“I plan to pursue a Ph.D. in psychology. I’m prepared because I’ve had thorough training in statistics and research methods,” she says. “If you think about what you want to do as a career, you’ll be able to tailor your activities and experience to match it.”
