Wolf publishes article, teaches online and at workshop

Gregory H. Wolf, North Central College professor of German, and a member of the Society of American Baseball Research (SABR) published the feature and lead article, “A Friend of Pirates History. From 42-112 to a World Series Championship,” on April 6 in The Hardball Times, an Internet site focusing on the history of Major League Baseball and advanced sabermetric analysis.

Wolf also presented a national webinar, titled “Increasing and Retaining Students: Building a Robust German Program,” for the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) on May 1. The webinar was published by AATG and can be downloaded. In addition, he presented the workshop “Building Vibrant German Programs through Advocacy, Articulation, and Outreach” at the Central States Conference on the Teaching on Foreign Languages in Milwaukee, Wis., March 8-10.

Wolf joined North Central College’s faculty in 2005 and received tenure in May 2011. He earned his B.A. from The University of the South and his M.A. and Ph.D. from The Ohio State University.
