Wis is presenter at in-service workshop, guest clinician at festival

Ramona M. Wis, North Central College’s Mimi Rolland Professor in the Fine Arts and professor and chair of music, gave an in-service workshop presentation titled “Best Practices in the Choral/General Music Classroom” for the vocal/general music teachers in Naperville Community Unit School District 203 on  March 2.

She was also a guest clinician for the South Suburban Conference Music Festival at Lemont High School on March 7. Wis worked with choirs from Lemont, Argo, Shepard, Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park, Hillcrest and Reavis high schools as part of a performance/workshop festival that featured 14 schools from the Southwest Suburban Conference.

Wis joined North Central’s faculty in 1994. She received a B.S. from the University of Illinois, an M.M. from Northern Illinois University and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University. She is author of “The Conductor as Leader: Principles of Leadership Applied to Life on the Podium.”
