Two North Central College students are gaining valuable experience working as interns this summer at The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago.

Caroline (Callie) Clay '13, an anthropology major from Dixon and Alex Pirela '13, a social science and history major from West Chicago, are working under the supervision of Gloria Levitt '03, associate registrar in The Field Museum’s Department of Anthropology.

Levitt, who also established a scholarship to provide financial support to a North Central College anthropology student, was an intern at Chicago’s Field Museum when she was a student at North Central. She later was hired for a permanent position at the museum and teaches interns the accession process—acquiring, labeling and storing new items—a process that a museum professional can use in any setting.
