Patricia M. Schacht, North Central College’s assistant professor of psychology, gave a talk titled “The Benefits of Teaching at a Liberal Arts College” to graduate students, interns and professors at Northwestern University’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences on Oct. 24. She discussed the pros and cons of teaching at a small liberal arts college, as well as the application process and ways to increase their chances of landing a job at a teaching college.
Schacht was invited to share her experiences at North Central College by a professional colleague.
A member of North Central’s faculty since 2008, Schacht received a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, an M.S. from the University of Cardiff in Wales, and a Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame.
