Mary Beth Ressler, assistant professor of education, gave a presentation at the National Council of Teachers of English Assembly for Research (NCTEAR) Feb. 19 in Madison, Wis. Her presentation was based on her research on adolescents’ identity performances during literacy practices and surrounds the importance of attending to complex identity work and its inherent relation to literacy work. She also presented at the National Reading Convention in December 2010 on similar research and at the National Council of Teachers of English in November on using dramatic inquiry in K-12 classrooms. All the conferences are peer-reviewed.
