Three North Central College students presented at the Academy of International Business Midwest chapter conference, held March 26-28 in Chicago. They presented along with their North Central faculty supervisor Robert Moussetis, professor of international business, chair of management and marketing and coordinator of graduate business programs.
The student presenters were Nicole Jakobsze ’15, majoring in marketing; Cameron Bechard ’15, majoring in international business, Chinese and Spanish; and David Blust M ’15, enrolled in the master of international business administration program.
On March 26, Blust gave a presentation titled “The Internationalization of Higher Education” as part of a program session on International Business Education.
On March 28 during a session on Higher Education/Leadership, Bechard gave a presentation titled “The Impact of Internationalization on Higher Education and an Analysis of the Stakeholders.” Also during that session, Jakobsze and Moussetis copresented on “Literature Review: Branding of Higher Education.”
Moussetis (left) participated in the conference in other ways, too. He chaired the session Environment of International Business with three presenters on March 26 and gave additional presentations on March 27.
The first, titled “Is Social Entrepreneurship the New Global Capitalism? An Exploration of the Strategic and Legal Nature of Social Entrepreneurship,” was copresented with Tom Cavenagh, North Central’s Schneller Sisters Professor of Leadership, Ethics and Values; professor of business law and conflict resolution; director of LEV; and coordinator of master of leadership studies program. Moussetis’ second presentation was titled “Antecedents to the Greek Financial Crisis—A Contextual Analysis.”
MBAA International is a multidisciplinary gathering of leaders from around the world. Its membership has met for 50 years to present and receive useful research, share effective pedagogy and network.
Moussetis joined the faculty at North Central College in 1998. He earned his B.S. from San Diego State University and his M.B.A. and D.B.A. from United States International University.
