May 2, 2011—A paper authored by two North Central College students and a professor has been selected for presentation at the Fifth Annual International Conference on Psychology.
The paper, “Short Term Positive Emotions: Building Resources and Unravelling Negativity” is authored by psychology professor Karl Kelley and students Brandi Balensiefen and Jessica VandenBerg. The conference will be held May 30 through June 2 in Athens, Greece.
Psychology is among more than 55 majors and minors offered at North Central College, where students have opportunities to gain valuable hands-on experience working with faculty on individualized research projects. Students learn how to collect and analyze data at the College’s Schwab Psychology Research Center and pursue internship opportunities at hundreds of social service agencies and businesses located near North Central’s campus.
