North Central College invites the public to a free presentation Nov. 2 on the benefits of learning the Chinese language.
The presentation, “Why Chinese?” will feature three guest speakers who speak fluent Chinese and who are Chicago-area managers of international business operations. The presentation will be particularly beneficial to high school and college-aged students considering Chinese studies, and for adults considering learning to use Chinese in their careers.
The presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, in Smith Hall on the second floor of North Central College’s Old Main, 30 N. Brainard St. Complimentary refreshments will be served during a social gathering immediately following the presentation.
The guest speakers are John Robinson, chairman and CEO of Chicago-China Resources Group, LLC; Neale Rath, senior consultant with Deloitte Consulting; and Tyler Spence, business development manager for Finkl Steel. The presentation is hosted by Jinai Sun, visiting assistant professor of Chinese in North Central College’s department of modern and classical languages.
