North Central College invites community members to join an unforgettable celebration of the College’s Sesquicentennial.

The College’s Sesquicentennial Reunion Celebration featuring dinner, dancing and entertainment will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, in the College’s Residence Hall/Recreation Center, 440 S. Brainard St. The cost is $20 per person, and attendees are encouraged to invite family and friends and host a table of 10 guests.

The once-in-a-lifetime event commemorates the day 150 years ago—Nov. 11, 1861—when students began taking classes at what was then Plainfield College.

“It’s going to be a real celebration of a college that has been around for 150 years,” says Rick Spencer, vice president for institutional advancement. “We have seven or eight outstanding music and theater alumni who are coming back—people who have performed on Broadway—and they’ll be performing at the Sesquicentennial Reunion Celebration.

The buffet dinner will feature salmon, beef, potatoes, soup, vegetables and other entrees, with birthday cake for dessert. The cast of North Central College’s production of “Guys and Dolls” will perform a medley of songs from the show, and musical theatre alumni will perform various Broadway show tunes and other selections. The band Entourage will perform live dance music.

The College’s 2011 Homecoming king and queen will be introduced, and past homecoming kings and queens will be honored.

To sign up for this event, register online by Nov. 4 or contact the College at or 630-637-5213.
