North Central College’s Macek and Failing ’14 are featured radio guests

The voices of Steve Macek, North Central College associate professor of speech communication and coordinator of urban and suburban studies, and Brian Failing ’14, majoring in history and urban and suburban studies, have been heard recently on two radio programs.

They were featured guests as cocurators of their exhibit, “Banned in Chicago: Eight Decades of Film Censorship in the Windy City,” on display through Aug. 16 at the Museums at Lisle Station Park in Lisle.

Cosponsored by the College’s urban and suburban studies program, “Banned in Chicago: Eight Decades of Film Censorship in the Windy City” examines at the history of film censorship by the Film Censor Board that functioned for 80 years in Chicago.
