May 21, 2012—Michael McEvoy of Buffalo Grove was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Major in Physics Award during Honors Day May 15 at North Central College.
McEvoy is a senior physics major who graduated from Buffalo Grove High School. He is the son of Mike and Pat McEvoy.
He plans to graduate in December after completing a research experience off campus, then pursue graduate studies and earn a master’s degree in physics.
At North Central, McEvoy has been a dean’s list scholar. He’s played for the men’s soccer team. As goalkeeper for the Cardinals, he twice earned College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Week honors.
