Those who want to relive highlights of the College’s unforgettable Sesquicentennial Homecoming Celebration can check out some of the local media coverage of the events.

North Central students posted 150 pictures and stories to the website of the Chronicle student newspaper.

Sunday’s edition of The Naperville Sun featured front-page coverage of Friday afternoon’s Convocation at the Sesquicentennial and Friday night’s big Sesquicentennial Celebration in the Res/Rec Center. The Sun also featured coverage of the building at 48 E. Jefferson Ave. being named Abe House for Bill and Mary Abe.

Sunday’s Daily Herald featured coverage of Saturday’s Homecoming Parade and included recollections from alumni and community members. On Friday, the Daily Herald published the first of a two-part interview with College President Hal Wilde. (Part two was published Saturday.)

The story about Leota Buss Ester’s efforts to personally invite classmates from the class of 1951 to their 60th reunion was published in The Naperville Sun, TribLocal Naperville and the Daily Herald. The Neighbor section in Friday’s Daily Herald was entirely devoted to North Central College and included stories about the documentary series and new books and exhibits related to the Sesquicentennial.

The College’s partners at Naperville Community Television not only produced videos about Outstanding Alumni Award recipients and Athletic Hall of Fame inductees—NCTV17 produced a piece called “The School We Love” as well as coverage of Homecoming and the 11-11-11 events. These and other videos may be viewed on the College’s YouTube page.
