Karl Kelley, North Central College professor of psychology and director of FYE, wrote a chapter titled “Differential Aptitude Testing,” which has been published in the 6th edition of “A Counselor’s Guide to Career Assessment Instruments” (2013) by editors Chris Wood and Danica G. Hays. Kelley also was a contributor in the 5th edition.
The guide is a collaborative effort between the National Career Development Association and the Association for Assessment in Counseling and Education; both are divisions of the American Counseling Association (ACA).
The only publication of its kind, the 6th edition provides an organized, practical and comprehensive guide to the effective selection and use of career assessment instruments. It’s an important resource for counselors, career development facilitators, school counselors and other career development professionals working in college career centers, agencies and schools. The updated edition has more than 70 reviews and includes qualitative/alternative approaches to standardized assessments.
Kelley joined North Central’s faculty in 1988 and was named a Ruge Fellow in 2007. He earned his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University.
