Nov. 17, 2010—Renowned jazz singer, pianist and composer Rick DellaRatta headlines a Dec. 11 concert at North Central College to benefit the ThinkGlobal Arts Foundation, presenters of the annual Naperville Celebration of Peace.

“Jazz at Christmastime” is presented at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, in North Central College’s Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave. Tickets are $35; visit thinkglobalarts.org or jazzforpeace.org to purchase tickets.

DellaRatta has performed with jazz greats ranging from Dizzy Gillespie to Paquito D’ Rivera and is considered to be among the finest singer/pianists performing today and one of only a handful of jazz artists who can make a successful musical presentation to a large audience without having to abandon the true art form of jazz.

DellaRatta’s lifelong endeavor is to help advance people to their highest potential through the understanding of jazz as well as spreading peace worldwide through his “Jazz for Peace World Tour.” The Foundation Center includes DellaRatta among the top musician philanthropists of our time.

Naperville’s annual Celebration of Peace, now in its fourth year, is spearheaded by Naperville-based ThinkGlobal Arts Foundation. The Celebration expands the definition of peace to include issues of personal reflection, service, reconciliation and the environment, and organizes free activities to educate and inspire residents to embrace peace in their daily lives. North Central College’s 2010-2011 Sesquicentennial Fine & Performing Arts Season is supported by a generous grant from the Illinois Arts Council. USG Corporation and Navistar, Inc. are underwriting sponsors.

This performance is one of many ongoing programs at North Central College to enrich and broaden the cultural and academic outlook for the College and community.
