Ibero-American Film Festival features six films

Fusión Española, North Central College’s Spanish Club, will host the Ibero-American Film Festival, featuring the screening of six films for cultural enrichment of Spanish studies. Admission is free to all six events, held in the theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall from May 2 through May 10.

An opening reception with complimentary refreshments and information about the films will take place at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, prior to the first film. The films are spoken in Spanish but have English subtitles. Following is the lineup for the festival:

•    Wednesday, May 2, 5-7 p.m. “Chico & Rita” (Spain 2010, NR), animation, drama
•    Thursday, May 3, 3-5:15 p.m. “Los Abrazos Rotos” (Spain 2009, R), drama
•    Monday, May 7, 5-7 p.m. “Los Ojos de Julia (Spain 2010, NR), thriller, supernatural
•    Tuesday, May 8, 4-6:10 p.m. “El Secreto de sus Ojos” (Argentina 2009, R), drama, mystery
•    Wednesday, May 9, 4-5:50 p.m. “La Misma Luna” (Mexico 2007, PG-13), drama
•    Thursday, May 10, 2-4 p.m. “Los Viajes del Viento” (Colombia 2009, NR), drama
