North Central College hosts renowned documentary filmmakers Paco de Onis and Pamela Yates as part of the College’s annual global human rights focus. The pair returns to show and discuss their new human rights film “Disruption” on April 16.

The film will be shown at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, in the Harold and Eva White Activities Center. After the viewing, Onis and Yates will lead a discussion and workshop on documentary filmmaking. The free event is hosted by the College’s Office of International Programs and Leadership, Ethics and Values program.

Filmmakers Onis and Yates were part of the College’s Global Human Rights event last year. Their new film “Disruption” focuses on the efforts of millions of women in Latin American countries as they try to make a better life for themselves and their families. It explores an avenue to social change that deserves to be better known: the quest for economic rights led by women.
