Gems interviewed for films, gives talk in Germany

Gerald Gems, professor of health and physical education, was filmed and interviewed by documentary producer John Cork for two films. Cork’s Cloverland Productions will produce a biography of swimmer Johnny Weismuller, and 20th Century Fox will broadcast Cork’s documentary on the 1924 Olympics on HBO (date TBA).

Also, Gems delivered a presentation titled “The German American Turners: The Political Transformation of a Movement Culture” at the International Society for the History of Physical Education and Sport in Frankfurt, Germany, on Aug. 9.
