Sept. 2, 2010—North Central College invites community members to celebrate Homecoming 2010 Oct. 21-24 with public events that include performances by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, family-friendly theatrical productions, a parade and, of course, a football game.

The public is welcome to participate in the following Homecoming weekend festivities:

Oct. 21-24
·    “The Sleepy Hollow Plays,” a new original work in which Chicago-based director Matthew Miller commissioned four playwrights to adapt the classic Washington Irving short story: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21; 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24 in the theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. ·    Chicago Symphony Orchestra, featuring violin soloist and guest conductor Gil Shaham, 8 p.m. in Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Friday, Oct. 22
·    Alumni Awards and Recognition Ceremony, 5 p.m., Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave., free.
·    Annual Homecoming concert, featuring performances by the North Central College Concert Choir, Concert Winds, Women’s Chorale and various chamber ensembles, 8 p.m., Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave., free.
Saturday, Oct. 23
·    Morning run with National Champion Cross Country Team, 6:30 a.m., in front of Merner Field House, 450 S. Brainard St.
·    Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, 11 a.m., Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave.
·    Homecoming parade: 12:45 p.m., route begins at North Brainard and East School streets and proceeds south on Brainard to Championship Plaza, where a pep rally will be held.
·    Football game, Cardinals vs. Illinois Wesleyan University, 2 p.m., Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium, 455 S. Brainard St.; tickets are $6/person.
·    Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, 8 p.m., Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave. Tickets are $95, $85 and $80; call the North Central College Box Office at 630-637-SHOW (7469) or visit www.northcentralcollege.edu/showtix.
Sunday, Oct. 24

·    “Charlotte’s Web,” Theatreworks USA brings E.B. White's story of the friendship between a pig named Wilbur and a little gray spider named Charlotte to life in Joseph Robinette's play, 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E.
