Oct. 12, 2010—A legendary New Orleans soul and R&B singer stars in “Christmas with Aaron Neville” Dec. 5 at North Central College.

The holiday performance showcases Neville performing with his quintet featuring his brother Charles. The two are among four siblings who founded The Neville Brothers in 1977.

“Christmas with Aaron Neville” begins at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, in North Central College’s Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave., Naperville. Tickets are $55, $40 and $35; call the North Central College Box Office at 630-637-SHOW (7469) or visit

Aaron Neville has topped charts since his 1966 debut “Tell It Like It Is” reached No. 1 on the Billboard R&B chart. Neville also reached No. 1 for his Grammy-winning collaborations with singer-songwriter Linda Ronstadt on such songs as “Don’t Know Much.” Rolling Stone magazine praised his 2006 album “Bring It On Home—The Soul Classics” and recently named him Best Male Singer for two consecutive years in its annual critics’ poll. Neville credits his Catholic faith for his success as both a solo artist and member of The Neville Brothers.

On Nov. 9 Neville releases his “I Know I’ve Been Changed,” a gospel album featuring fellow New Orleans native and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Allen Toussaint. The release celebrates Neville’s 50th year of recorded music. While “Christmas with Aaron Neville” at North Central College will feature a predominantly holiday theme, Neville also will perform popular songs from throughout his career as well as music from his new album.

This performance is one of many ongoing programs at North Central College to enrich and broaden the cultural and academic outlook for the College and community. North Central offers a variety of venues accommodating a rich range of local and world-class events, performances and space needs for the public.
