North Central College Campus Safety officers will participate in a July 29 lunch that will benefit Special Olympics.
Diners are invited to join Naperville-area law enforcement officers for lunch between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday, July 29, at Texas Roundhouse, 2856 Patriot’s Lane, Naperville. Officers will serve a lunch of a pulled pork sandwich, a side dish and nonalcoholic beverage. There is no charge for the meal, but 100 percent of donations will go to Special Olympics Illinois.
North Central College’s Office of Campus Safety supports Special Olympics by participating in such annual events as the Law Enforcement Torch Run and the “Cop on Top” fundraiser in which officers are stationed on the roofs of local Dunkin’ Donut shops.
For 11 consecutive years, North Central College has hosted the Special Olympics Illinois Northeastern Area 2 Spring Games. The event annually offers more than 700 athletes from DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Kendall counties the opportunity to compete in track and field events on North Central College’s facilities.
