North Central College has received national recognition from multiple college guides. U.S. News & World Report placed North Central among “America’s Best Colleges” for 2014, ranking it No. 13 among 110 schools in the Midwest. The Princeton Review named North Central a Best Midwestern College, and Forbes ranked North Central among the top 20 percent of colleges in the nation. G.I. Jobs magazine rated North Central College a 2014 Military Friendly School, and North Central was named a “High ROI College” by Affordable Colleges Online.

Glen Krisch '97

Glen Krisch is set to publish a trilogy called “The Brother’s Keeper” with book one, “Arkadium Rising,” to be published December 2014. The book is about a malicious cult that seeks to bring down modern civilization and turn back time. Though written word is banned, a pair of brothers seeks to record the history that unfolds in the book’s post-apocalyptic world. Krisch’s other work has appeared in publications on three different continents over the last decade.

Jack Arnston co-owns The Priton Group in Madison, WI. The company specializes in data storage and facilitating paper-to-digital file transitions for companies and organizations.

Patrick Oehlschlager '93

Patrick Oehlschlager is general manager/chief executive officer of Ozark Electric Cooperative in Ozark, MO. Ozark Electric is a rural electric provider to more than 30,000 customers in nine counties throughout southwestern Missouri. Oehlschlager’s 19-year career at Ozark began in dispatch in 1994.

Mark Bailey M ’98

Mark Bailey M ’98 began a four-year term as a trustee on the Board of the Illinois Teachers’ Retirement System. Bailey is director of bands at Scott and River Woods elementary schools in Naperville and has had a long career as a professional musician, music teacher and band director at private and public schools throughout the Chicago area. He is president of the Naperville Unit Education Association and treasurer of Region 39 of the Illinois Education Association.

In just six years, Summer Daily ’04 Thornton has gone from opening her own interior design business to being featured as one of the “10 New Trad Designers to Watch in 2013” by Traditional Home magazine.

Keith Carlson '95

Keith Carlson is a journalism teacher at Naperville Central High School. The Journalism Education Association (JEA) awarded him its Rising Star Award, given annually to five high school journalism advisers from around the United States. The award came only a few months after the publication he advises, Central Times, won a record 11th Pacemaker Award.
