North Central College appointed five new tenure-track faculty members for the 2013-2014 academic year:

Alumnus building new facility to court success

Robin Henders ’03, co-owner of Five Star Tennis, is pursuing his long-held dream of opening a tennis facility for his rapidly expanding business. Five Star Tennis is building a 40,000-square-foot indoor tennis facility in Plainfield near 119th Street and Normantown Road. A grand opening is scheduled for January 1, 2014.

Proud to be a member of the Class of 1963

Time flies when you’re having fun. That might be the motto of the Class of 1963, the latest North Central College graduating class to be inducted into the 50-Year Club at Homecoming.

Kelly Carew Kirchner '10

Kelly Carew Kirchner is an admission counselor for Roosevelt University at the Schaumburg, IL, campus. She received a degree in organizational communication from North Central and a master’s in college student personnel from Western Illinois University in Macomb.

Rena Schergen '07

Rena Schergen is an archivist at the Archdiocese of St. Louis. She earned her master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Brant Roth '04

Brant Roth is director of business development at The Sullivan Group in Oak Brook, IL. He meets with doctors, chief financial officers and risk managers of hospitals to offer improvement solutions to healthcare professionals.

Jamie Solus '13

Jamie Solus is an account coordinator for O’Reilly DePalma, a public relations firm in Frankfort, IL, which focuses on brands in the design and construction industry.

Patrick Nebl '11

Patrick Nebl won the Bowling Green State University Schipper Award for Statistics, which is awarded to one graduate student in the university’s psychology department after the first year. The student who wins must perform highly in the graduate level statistics courses, help and teach others and create a good environment in these classes.

Lindsay Jubeck '09

Lindsay Jubeck went to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to complete TEFL (Teaching English as a First Language) certification before arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where she is teaching English for the year. Previously, she embarked on a 13-month trip through Latin America––starting in Peru and traveling through Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize and Mexico. Danielle Bank '06

Danielle Bank was awarded the Illinois Small College Placement Association’s (ISCPA) Professional Development Scholarship. The scholarship is to be used for conferences geared toward the career development profession and the betterment of the ISCPA organization. Bank will share information about her conference experiences as part of a professional development presentation at a future ISCPA meeting. She is a career counselor at North Central.
