North Central College student Femi Oyewole ’15 has been selected for a prestigious program that offers networking, mentoring and other opportunities for students who want to pursue careers as higher education administrators.

Oyewole has been accepted into the 2013-2014 class of the Undergraduate Fellows Program of Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, formerly known as the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).

Abigail Escatel ’15 is applying a Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship to prepare for career in higher education.

Abigail Escatel ’15 started her college career with the goal of becoming a paralegal. She so enjoyed her studies that she’s decided to pursue a career in higher education with the dream of becoming a college president. “After I started taking classes I realized I liked learning and didn’t want to stop,” says Escatel about her studies at College of DuPage (COD) before transferring to North Central.

North Central men’s cross country head coach Al Carius and volunteer assistant coach Tom Whitaker have many memories of the nine North Central Marathons staged from 1967 to 1975.

Tammy Wynard, North Central College visiting instructor of health and physical education and coordinator of the health education and wellness programs, presented at the annual American School Health Association conference in Myrtle Beach, S.C., Oct. 10-12. The conference brought together professionals working in higher education, K-12 school teachers and nurses, as well as community health education professionals.

North Central welcomes alumna Nicole Coate ’01 and Alvaro Salazar to present their lecture and musical presentation, titled “Inspiring Change in Peru: An Evening of Music and Creative Thoughts on Social Service.”

The free presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, in Koten Chapel.
