On Tuesday, Oct. 29, the City of Naperville will repair a water main at the corner of Loomis Street and Chicago Avenue (southeast corner of Schneller Hall). Heavy equipment and city work crews will be in the area, affecting traffic on Chicago Avenue and access to Loomis Street.

Changes to traffic flow will start at 8 a.m. and water will be shut off at 9 a.m.

Westbound traffic on Chicago Avenue will not be affected. “No Parking” signs will be in place between Brainard and Loomis on Chicago Avenue.

North Central College invites the campus community to participate in the Oxfam America Hunger Banquet®, a free event that’s part of the College’s yearlong global human rights focus on poverty reduction.

The banquet will start at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, in the Harold and Eva White Activities Center.



North Central College announces site selection for new science center

The North Central College Board of Trustees has selected a location for a new science center.

During its annual fall meeting the North Central College Board of Trustees selected a location for a new science center that will create exciting new educational opportunities for students and transform the campus.

After careful consideration the Board has determined that the new science center will be located south of Van Buren Avenue between Loomis and Brainard streets, within the boundaries of the College and University District designated by the City of Naperville.

Anti-Hate Week features courtroom drama “Defamation” on Oct. 28

North Central College welcomes the touring production “Defamation,” where the audience becomes the jury, and other events as part of annual Anti-Hate Week.

Among several events during North Central College’s 2013 Anti-Hate Week, Oct. 28-Nov. 2, is the touring production of “Defamation,” written by Todd Logan and presented on Oct. 28.

A free event, “Defamation” begins at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, in North Central’s Wentz Concert Hall. The play presents a dilemma that leads to a riveting courtroom encounter with audience members as jurors and challenges our preconceived notions about race, color, religion and even the law.

Harr to be honored with Wall of Witness recognition during Homecoming

The Rev. Dr. Wilber C. Harr ’30 will be honored with a posthumous Wall of Witness recognition during the 2013 Homecoming Convocation Friday, Oct. 25.

North Central College will honor the late Rev. Dr. Wilber C. Harr ’30 during the 2013 Homecoming Convocation on Friday, Oct. 25, by adding his name to the College’s Wall of Witness. The Wall of Witness recognizes alumni of North Central and/or Evangelical Theological Seminary (ETS) for their lives of witness to their faith and service to humanity. Names of honorees are displayed in Kiekhofer Hall.
