Caroline Gully '12

Shanna Loos '11

Shanna Loos is a special education teacher at Challand Middle School in Sterling, IL. She previously worked as a one-on-one aide for a child with severe nonverbal autism at Franklin Elementary School in Sterling. She walked with the child’s family this year at the Walk Now for Autism in Chicago.

Ryan Freed '10

Ryan Freed is vice president at Suburban Real Estate. He works for Bryan Barus ’90, CEO of Suburban Real Estate and a member of North Central’s Board of Trustee Associates. Freed and his wife Molly Link ’10 Freed reside in Batavia, IL.

Maura Davy Prekwas '08

Maura Davy Prekwas is an elementary teacher at El Sierra School in Downers Grove Grade School District 58. She serves as a co-op and attests that having Danielle Norman ’16 as a preclinical student has been a great experience. Prekwas says that she and her school staff are always impressed with the ability of North Central students to get their pupils involved in the curriculum.

Rachel Mortell '12

Rachel Mortell earned her certified nurse assistant certification and is working in the medical field in order to accumulate enough hours of experience to apply for physician assistant programs.

Sam Sweeney '11

Sam Sweeney is a professional tennis player. In mixed doubles, he and his partner, Tarakaa Bertrand, won the United States Tennis Association Eastern tournament. If they continue to win, the duo will be entered directly into the U.S. Open mixed doubles tournament to compete for a major title.

Abigail Stark '10

Abigail Stark is a loan administrator at Chase Mortgage. She is also pursuing a master of leadership studies degree at North Central. Stark lives in Bolingbrook, IL, and may be reached at  abbystark@hotmail.com

Bailey Hinz '09

Bailey Hinz graduated with a master’s degree in music therapy from Colorado State University, specializing in neurologic music therapy. Her graduate research addressed the use of therapeutic music in improving self-perception among young women. While at Colorado State, she raced for the university triathlon team and finished seventh at her final national championship in April. Hinz will be a music therapy intern at Cedar Community in West Bend, WI. She may be reached at bihinz@gmail.com.

Kitt Vanderwater was selected to join British Airways’ UnGrounded “Hack at 30,000 feet” in June by the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) through its Aspirations in Computing talent development initiative.
