Joy Hoffman earns Outstanding Major in Secondary Education Award

Joy Hoffman received the Outstanding Major in Secondary Education Award during the 2013 Honors Convocation at North Central College.

Joy Hoffman, daughter of Jack and Robbie Hoffman of Frankfort, Ill., was awarded the Outstanding Major in Secondary Education Award during Honors Day May 14 at North Central College in Naperville, Ill.

A senior, Hoffman is majoring in English with a focus on writing at North Central College. She is a graduate of Lincoln-Way East High School.

Joy has served in a mentoring program at schools in the local area and in Chicago and contributes to the College’s NC Review, a literary magazine with national readership. Her name has regularly appeared on the Dean’s List.

Robert Dee earns Outstanding Major in Finance Award

Robert Dee received the Outstanding Major in Finance Award during the 2013 Honors Convocation at North Central College.

Robert Dee, son of William and Diane Dee, of Oak Lawn, Ill., was awarded the Outstanding Major in Finance Award during Honors Day May 14 at North Central College.

A senior, Robert has a triple major in finance, economics and accounting at North Central College. He is a graduate of Oak Lawn Community High School.

Katherine Hoekstra earns Outstanding Major in Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management Award

Katherine Hoekstra named Outstanding Major in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management during the 2013 Honors Convocation at North Central College.

Katherine Hoekstra, daughter of Steve and Junell Hoekstra, of St. Anne, Ill., was awarded the Outstanding Major in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Award during Honors Day May 14 at North Central College.

A senior, Katherine is majoring in management and entrepreneurship and small business management at North Central College. She is a graduate of Bishop McNamara High School.

North Central College juniors attend national, state leadership conferences

Juniors Elizabeth Novak and Monica Degenhardt are chosen to represent North Central College in collegiate leadership conferences.

Two North Central College juniors were chosen to represent the College in collegiate leadership conferences.

Elizabeth Novak and Monica Degenhardt attended the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders at the University of Maryland in College Park, May 30-June 1. They were selected by the College’s Leadership, Ethics and Values (LEV) program to participate in the conference, which is organized in part by the American Association of University Women.
