The performance, “Passion. Tragedy. Love,” begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 16, in the College’s Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. College of DuPage graduate Brendan McCormack of West Chicago has been awarded the 2012 North Central College/College of DuPage Honors Scholarship.

May 22, 2012—College of DuPage graduate Brendan McCormack of West Chicago has been awarded the 2012 North Central College/College of DuPage Honors Scholarship.

The award is a renewable full-tuition scholarship that enables a College of DuPage Honors Scholar to pursue studies at North Central College and earn a bachelor’s degree. This year’s award was presented May 1 during COD’s Celebration of Academic Excellence to recognize 2011-2012 Honors and Presidential Scholars.

President's Message

By now, the announcement that I will retire as president of North Central College at the end of this year is “old news.” But I am still getting used to my new status (as a lame duck!). When alumni and others congratulate me, I am not quite sure what to say. My wife’s advice? “Just say thank you.”

Samuel Jaros earns 2012 Outstanding Major in Economics Award

Samuel Jaros of Naperville was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Major in Economics Award during Honors Day May 15 at North Central College.

May 22, 2012—Samuel Jaros of Naperville was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Major in Economics Award during Honors Day May 15 at North Central College.

Jaros is a senior with majors in four areas: mathematics, finance, economics and actuarial science. He is the son of Gary and Nicholette Jaros and a graduate of Waubonsie Valley High School.

Kelsey Brummel of Sheridan received the 2012 Outstanding Major in Marketing Award during Honors Day May 15 at North Central College.

Brummel is a senior majoring in marketing with a minor in interactive media studies/convergent media. She is the daughter of Don and Marcee Brummel and a graduate of Somonauk High School.

Amanda Marek of Bridgeview was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Major in Management Award during Honors Day May 15 at North Central College.

Marek is a junior with majors in management and entrepreneurship/small business management and minors in finance and economics at North Central College. She is the daughter of Patricia and Steven Marek and is a 2009 graduate of Oak Lawn Community High School.
