On the topic of tuition costs, Wilde points out that financial aid support has skyrocketed in recent years, outpacing tuition increases in some cases: "In reality, though, at most colleges, the official price has no more relation to what you really pay than does the sticker price on a used car."

North Central College has named its Dean’s List of scholars for the 2012 winter term.

North Central College has named its Dean’s List of scholars for the 2012 winter term. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, undergraduate students must maintain a grade-point average of 3.6 (4.0=A) for the term and be enrolled as full-time students. Part-time students are recognized at the end of each academic year if they meet the same criterion and have completed at least eight credit hours, the equivalent of one term as a full-time student.

North Central College's Office of International Programs presents its 14th annual Pancakes Around the World from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 1.

North Central College's Office of International Programs presents its 14th annual Pancakes Around the World fundraiser from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 1 in Fellowship Hall of Community United Methodist Church, 20 N. Center St., Naperville.

International students will cook and serve pancakes and other breakfast items from their countries while raising money for the College's international scholarship fund. The meal is an all-you-can-eat brunch for $5 per person (free for children under age 3).

March 27, 2012—North Central College has introduced a distinctive new Master of International Business Administration (MIBA) degree. It is the Chicago region’s only such graduate-level program with an explicit focus on international business.

With more than 95 percent of the world’s population living outside the United States, North Central College recognizes that employers increasingly need managers who are equipped with international experience and specialized training to take their work to the global marketplace.

World Water Day event taking place Tuesday at Kaufman Dining Hall

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, in Kaufman Dining Hall, Sustainability Coordinator Brittany Graham and School and Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education (SCARCE) will offer tips on water conservation. Prizes will be raffled.

Selsky presents at symposium on athletic training

Kendall Selsky, visiting assistant professor of health and physical education and exercise science program director, recently presented at a symposium.

Kendall Selsky ’93, North Central College visiting assistant professor of health and physical education and exercise science program director, presented at the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association 44th Annual Meeting and Symposium.

Selsky presented the session, "Functional Movement Screening in Rehabilitation," which discussed various strategies used by athletic trainers to assess functional movement abilities in their patients. Her presentation was part of the athletic training student program at the symposium, held March 15-17 in Wheeling.

Formation of international connections and the development of the Japanese program are important milestones in the College's history.

Throughout the Sesquicentennial Celebration, there have been efforts to focus on certain aspects of the College’s history. One of the Sesquicentennial Committee’s goals was to encourage the organization of  events to spotlight some of these important stories, such as the College’s international connections, its  relationship with Japanese students and the development of the Japanese program. During Homecoming 2011, a reunion was held of alumni from Japan and those who studied in Japan.

Suzanne Chod, assistant professor of political science, discussed Tuesday's election results on the CBS2 Chicago "Morning News" program Wednesday morning.

Chod talked with CBS2 Chicago anchors about results of the Republican presidential primary in Illinois. She also addressed a question about why some politicians accused of corruption continue to win the support of large numbers of voters. Video of her appearance is posted on the CBS2 Chicago website.
