Reconnect with the new alumni online directory

The Office of Alumni Relations has added a new online directory for the use of all College alumni.

The Office of Alumni Relations has added a new online directory for the use of all College alumni. Users can access information about their classmates and others who shared similar interests and activities. The directory encourages alumni to reconnect and communicate.

“The directory also allows users to easily update their contact information and submit classnotes,” says Adrian Aldrich ’02, director of alumni relations.

Lauren Visher, special events coordinator, was interviewed by the Naperville Sun about her job, which involves coordinating six major events annually for Naper Settlement. “Long-term, I would like to stay in the non-profit (field) and I would like to have a greater impact. At (my former employer) the YMCA I was responsible for bringing in a half million dollars that we could use to help more than 5,000 families. To have an even greater impact would be fantastic.”

Patrick Rizzo '05

Patrick Rizzo was selected to represent Team USA in the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, Oct. 14-30. Rizzo was one of two U.S. men competing and took eighth place in the marathon, which took place Oct. 30. Rizzo also qualified to compete in the U.S. Olympic Trials in Houston in January. The top three finishers at the Trials will represent the United States at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.

Ana Žanić showcases multiple art forms in North Central College exhibit

Multimedia artist Ana Žanić presents “Small Worlds,” an exhibit featuring watercolor paintings and ceramic artwork Jan. 8 - Feb. 16.

Watercolor paintings and ceramic artwork by contemporary visual artist Ana Žanić are featured in “Small Worlds” exhibit Jan. 8 through Feb. 16 at North Central College.

The exhibit is free and open to the public in the College’s Oesterle Library Gallery, 320 E. School St. An artist reception will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, where guests can meet Žanić. Complimentary refreshments will be served.

During winter term, North Central’s Oesterle Library will feature publications by 10 faculty members and the history of Oesterle Library. The displays are showcased in the library’s lobby.

Please note, the location of the panel discussion has changed to Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave.

Multimedia artwork by North Central College faculty and alumni will be featured in the exhibit “Vantage Point” Jan. 13 through March 4.

The exhibit highlights the works of alumni who were students of Associate Professor of Art Barry Skurkis, whose own artwork also is featured in the display.

Join Iowa caucus watch party Jan. 3

Join the political science department to watch the Iowa caucuses for the Republican presidential nomination at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, in Smith Hall.

The North Central College campus community is invited to join members of the political science department Tuesday, Jan. 3, to watch the first-in-the-nation selection for the Republican presidential nomination. Watch an actual Iowa caucus taking place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Smith Hall at Old Main. Refreshments will be served.
