North Central College has named its Dean’s List of scholars for the 2011 fall term. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, undergraduate students must maintain a grade-point average of 3.6 (4.0=A) for the term and be enrolled as full-time students. Part-time students are recognized at the end of each academic year if they meet the same criterion and have completed at least eight credit hours, the equivalent of one term as a full-time student.

The following students were named to the Dean’s List during fall term:

Alexandra A'Hearn       

Steve Peebles, a 2007 North Central College graduate who majored in musical theatre, is performing as Dicken in Evanston’s Light Opera Works’ production of “The Secret Garden” through Jan. 1.

Chicago Tribune theater critic Chris Jones mentioned Peebles in a review published Dec. 29.

Music Director Mei-Ann Chen leads Chicago Sinfonietta’s annual tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Jan. 15 at North Central College.

Guest conductor Jeri Lynne Johnson, founder and music director of Philadelphia’s Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra, joins Chen in leading the Sinfonietta in the performance, “The Journey, The Dream”—a selection of works that celebrate King’s pioneering fight for civil rights and his enduring legacy.

London-based vocal trio Tenors Un Limited performs an exciting evening of popular classical music Jan. 18 at North Central College.

In a concert titled “The Rat Pack of Opera,” Tenors Un Limited present original compositions along with timeless favorites, including “O Sole Mio,” “You Raise Me Up,” “Time to Say Goodbye,” “Volare,” “Summertime” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.”
