Yo-Yo Ma, The Beach Boys, Herbie Hancock, Bernadette Peters, Jim Brickman, Charlie Daniels Band, Béla Fleck & the Flecktones, The Manhattan Transfer and Celtic Woman are among the world-renowned artists coming to Naperville during North Central College’s most astounding season to date.

Hamalis presents research on war ethics at conference

Perry Hamalis, Cecelia Schneller Mueller Professor of Religion, was invited to present his paper and research on war ethics, which will become part of a book.

Perry Hamalis—Cecelia Schneller Mueller Professor of Religion, associate professor of religious studies and director of academic opportunities—was one of 10 invited speakers from around the country to present his research on war ethics at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. The conference, which took place March 25-26, was hosted by LMU and co-sponsored by the Huffington Ecumenical Institute and Fordham University.

Life Trustee William Abe honored by the Council of Independent Colleges

North Central College Life Trustee William Abe was honored by the Council of Independent Colleges with its 2011 Outstanding Service Award.

North Central College Life Trustee William Abe of Naperville, a 1950 alumnus of the College, was honored by the Council of Independent Colleges with its 2011 Outstanding Service Award during the organization’s annual State Fund Members Conference on May 3.

Abe’s career in financial management and consulting spanned 58 years. He rose to the top of his profession with two of the largest brokerage firms in the country, Gruntal & Company and its merger partner, Stifel, Nicolaus & Company.

NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships is set for May 26-28 at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. With the official list of qualifiers released May 22, the second-ranked Cardinal men's track and field team will open defense of its NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship with a total of 13 entries in seven events.
