Gertrude Hildreth was a professor of education at Brooklyn College in New York. She received her master’s degree from the University of Illinois in 1921 and a Ph.D. from Columbia University in 1925. She was the author of many books, including “Child Growth Through Education,” “Educating Gifted Childre,” “Learning the Three R’s,” “Better Schooling for Beginners” and “Teaching Reading, Metropolitan Achievement.” She also wrote approximately 200 articles and bulletins. Hildreth made a significant contribution in the field of educational psychology and child guidance and earned an international reputation for her work in education.
