Dan BridgesCollege partners with Naperville district to create opportunities
Dan Bridges, superintendent of Naperville Community Unit School District 203, says his district serves more than 17,500 children in 22 schools.
“I know that when North Central College students are going out into our schools that they have access to a high-quality education with a diverse student population and an opportunity to really see real-world classrooms and get real-world experience,” Bridges says.
District 203 schools reflect the increasing diversity of Naperville, where families reflect a growing number of nationalities, ethnicities, social-economic backgrounds and varying education needs.
“North Central College students who come into our schools are walking into classrooms that really reflect the real world,” Bridges says. “It’s an opportunity for them to see different types of learning styles and interact with students with different needs and different learning styles.”
School District 203 and North Central College collaborate and partner to be leaders in adopting best practices in education. This strong relationship also helps lead to employment in District 203 for many North Central College education graduates.
“We have found that the quality of the graduates from North Central College who enter our school district as teachers have been very strong,” Bridges says. “I think the rigor in the program at North Central College effectively prepares teaching candidates for the position.”
