Bertram M. Lee

Bertram Lee was a media and telecommunications entrepreneur. Lee and a business partner became the first African-American owners of a major league sports franchise when they were named co-owners and managing partners of the NBA’s Denver Nuggets in 1989. Lee served as president of both Albimar Communications and Kellee Communication, Inc. He was also on the board of directors of Reebok International, Inc., Boston Bank of Commerce and Shawmut Bank. During his lifetime, Lee received numerous awards, including the NAACP Imagine Award, The American Heritage and Freedom Award, and Howard University’s Salute to Blacks in Business.
