The Department of Modern and Classical Languages at North Central College seeks applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish.  This position is a temporary non-tenure track appointment for the 2014-2015 academic year (September 1 – June 15).  In addition to teaching elementary Spanish, duties of this position include coordinating the elementary Spanish program at the College and teaching courses on language pedagogy to students in our secondary certification program. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Ph.D. in Spanish or Spanish-related studies, but ABD candidates will also be considered.  Successful candidates will likely have a specialization in language pedagogy and experience coordinating multiple sections of a language program.  Applicants must have college experience teaching Spanish and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence.
