U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Colleges" guide
The nation’s most widely read college ranking survey has listed North Central College among the top tier of Midwest colleges for the past 19 years. Check it out at usnews.com.
North Central College is among U.S. colleges and universities that produced the highest number of Fulbright students for 2014-2015 international exchanges. Three North Central applicants received Fulbright English Teaching Assistantships in 2014. The award provides a fully funded one-year appointment abroad as a cultural ambassador and English teacher. The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government’s flagship international educational exchange program.
Senator Paul Simon Award
North Central College is one of five institutions nationwide to receive a 2015 Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization from NAFSA: Association of International Educators. This prestigious award recognizes colleges and universities that are making significant, well-planned, well-executed and well-documented progress toward comprehensive internationalization using innovative and creative approaches.
The Princeton Review rates North Central College among the “Best in the Midwest” based on surveys collected directly from students. North Central College is among a select group of institutions nationwide highlighted by The Princeton Review in “The Best 379 Colleges, 2015 Edition.” North Central College students who were surveyed said they liked the College’s Naperville location and how its proximity to Chicago helped them secure internships and other career opportunities. Students also praised North Central College’s “wonderful study abroad program,” “great science department” and “dedicated and accessible” professors.
Chronicle of Higher Education’s “Great Colleges To Work For”
North Central is among just 93 institutions nationwide recognized as a "2016 Great College To Work For" by The Chronicle of Higher Education. The recognition is based on results of surveys of more than 44,000 employees at 280 colleges and universities. This is the fifth time in six years North Central College has earned the recognition. The College for 2016 was recognized in three categories: Teaching Environment, which recognizes innovative and high-quality teaching; and Tenure Clarity and Process, where respondents said the requirements for tenure were clearly spelled out.
One of Forbes magazine's "America's Top Colleges"
Forbes profiles about 660 of the approximately 2,500 institutions of higher learning in the United States for its annual America's Top Colleges survey. For 2016 Forbes ranks North Central College No. 493 overall. The annual rankings are compiled for Forbes by the Center for College Affordability and based on post-graduate success, student satisfaction, student debt, academic success and graduation rate.
G.I. Jobs Magazine, “Military-Friendly School 2016”
G.I. Jobs magazine rates North Central College a Military Friendly School, a designation that honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members and veterans as students. North Central College is recognized for providing such services to student-veterans as academic and career counseling, peer support and scholarships or other tuition assistance. North Central has earned the recognition for five consecutive years beginning in 2011.
“The Princeton Review’s Guide to 322 Green Colleges”
The Princeton Review in partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council includes North Central College in “The Princeton Review’s Guide to 322 Green Colleges: North Central College is recognized for sustainability initiatives including bicycle-sharing, food waste management, environmentally conscious buildings and a community garden. The College has earned the recognition for three straight years starting in 2011.
