My second home.
And my second family.
It took me by surprise, but within the first few months of my first year, North Central College had fully become my second home and family. This made it as difficult to say goodbye last June as it was saying goodbye to my own family four years ago.
North Central gave me opportunities I never thought I would have, and introduced me to experiences I never even thought about! During my four years, I was able to travel the world and establish my own favorite nook and crannies, encouraging me to explore how my career could take me to places I hadn't had the chance to explore during school.
My adventures certainly added flare to my resume, but it was activities out of the classroom, such as Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) and the Entrepreneurship and International Business Organization (EIBO), that helped me give back
to our community and enhance what I was learning in the classroom. These opportunities helped me develop a rapport with faculty, and find mentors along the way most of whom I continue to keep in contact with today.
My involvement in trips, clubs, sports and classes all combined to make a dynamite North Central College experience. But for me, it was the roommates across the hall, conversations before class, or planning the next big Friday night adventure that led to the unending friendships and everlasting memories that still make me look back and laugh uncontrollably.
