Lauren Kazmierczak is a lifelong Bears fan. Her resume was good enough to land her a coveted internship at Bears training camp. As a result, Lauren Kazmierczak spent three weeks as an advertising and special events intern, organizing the many public activities that surround the preparations for an NFL season.
“We organized things like kids’ activities and autograph sessions,” says the sport management major. “It was especially crazy with the new quarterback, Jay Cutler. We had 6,000 to 7,000 people every day in the stands watching.”
At first, she admits to being a bit awestruck by the presence of the players. But that soon changed. “You see them in the cafeteria eating every day, sometimes you eat with them, it’s a nice experience,” she says. “It’s just cool to see what really goes on at camp.”rience,” she says. “It’s just cool to see what really goes on at camp.”
