The Cardinal football team received international exposure over the summer, traveling to Switzerland for an exhibition game against the Calanda Broncos. Forty-five players, including eight alumni, were accompanied by parents and coaching staff.
In Switzerland, the Cardinals defeated the Broncos 29-7 and proceeds of the game were donated to a local Swiss children’s hospital.
The team especially enjoyed experiencing a new culture and several even tried out Swiss whitewater rafting. “It was a chance for all of us to experience the world while sharing a small part of ours—[American] football,” says Bradley Spencer, assistant football coach. “Any time someone can travel abroad and see a different part of the world,
it expands your mind and opinions.”
